Ashura International Foundation / Husayni Mourning News:
On the occasion of the arrival of Muharram, a commemoration ceremony mourning the martyrdom of Imam Husayn (a.s.) and his loyal companions was held with the cooperation of Iran’s Cultural Attaché and hosted by our country’s embassy in Thailand.
Concurrent with the arrival of the month of grief and sorrow of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) and the days of mourning for Imam Husayn (a.s.) and his loyal companions, a mourning ceremony for the first ten days of Muharram was held with the presence of Iranian residents, embassy members, and devotees of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) from various countries, including Iraq and Afghanistan.
Mehdi Zare Bi-Ayb, Iran’s Cultural Attaché, with the theme of “The Objectives and Motivations of Imam Husayn’s (a.s.) Uprising,” with a wise, rational, and ethical approach, elaborated on the various dimensions of the Ashura movement.
Referring to the fact that Ashura is not merely a historical event or an emotional epic, he stated, “The movement of Imam Husayn (a.s.) is a human-building and civilization-building school founded on rationality, human dignity, social responsibility, and the defense of truth.”
He added: “The secret to the endurance of Ashura is that Imam Husayn (a.s.) did not rise for a particular nation, a particular geography, or a particular historical period; his objective was the defense of human truth, human dignity, and the salvation of society from moral decline, and it is for this reason that the message of Ashura remains alive, inspiring, and illuminating for contemporary humanity today.”
