Ashura International Foundation:

The closing ceremony of the international conference “Realization of the Promise of Revenge,” organized by the Research Institute of Islamic Culture and Thought and the Imam Reza (a.s.) Seminary Complex, in cooperation with a number of scientific and research centers of the country, was held on July 22, 2026, at the Allamah Jafari (r.a.) Hall of the Research Institute of Islamic Culture and Thought.

Ayatollah Mohammad Hassan Akhtari, the head of the Ashura International Foundation, at this ceremony, referring to the issue of blood vengeance in the school of Islam, said, “Blood vengeance is another meaning of the doctrine and concept of revenge, and revenge is approved by the religion of Islam; just as the Quran has established laws for the punishment of criminals and wrongdoers.”

Referring to verse 179 of Surah Al-Imran (And there is for you in legal retribution [saving of] life…), he stated, “The Quran emphasizes that life is in retribution. Retribution and revenge are deterrents; because if revenge is not taken against criminals, society will descend into chaos.”

The head of the Supreme Council of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, stating that “today, the Iranian nation and the religion of Islam have been attacked by criminals,” added, “The cry of blood vengeance of the Iranian nation in the farewell to the martyred leader is precisely an action that has been endorsed and confirmed by the Pure Imams (peace be upon them).”

Mr. Akhtari, mentioning that “the bloodthirsty Trump has explicitly confessed to his role in the martyrdom of General Soleimani and our martyred leader,” continued, “Can a society in which so many dear ones have been killed and wounded — including the students of the Shajareh Tayyibeh School in Minab — tolerate criminals? Can one come to terms with the leaders of the Zionist regime and the terrorist U.S. government and sign a peace treaty with them?”

He considered liberating the region from the foul existence of America as an instance of revenge and added, “Our officials must raise the issue of revenge and blood vengeance in their meetings and sessions with officials of various countries.”

The former International Deputy of the Office of the Supreme Leader added, “Revenge is also approved by human society. Therefore, everyone must strive and plan for its realization.”

Ayatollah Akhtari, criticizing the performance of some elites and political, cultural, and scientific figures, said, “This group seeks to set aside the issue of revenge and blood vengeance. How can some who wear turbans and have studied religion raise this issue? While Clinton has explicitly said that we have oppressed the Iranian nation for decades, can someone be considered a professor at an Iranian university who ignores the issue of revenge and blood vengeance?!”

The Deputy Secretary-General of the Islamic Awakening World Assembly emphasized, “Our university professors and legal experts must be the standard-bearers of blood vengeance for the martyred leader on the global stage, and blood vengeance should not be limited to taking to the streets. These professors and legal experts must keep the issue of blood vengeance for the leader and our martyrs alive in world public opinion every day by issuing statements and disseminating information globally.”

The head of the Ashura International Foundation also noted, “There are good paths for revenge, and therefore everyone must pursue blood vengeance for the Imam of the Ummah and all the martyrs. We must fulfill our duty as soldiers of this system on this path so that we may be successful in the face of the blood of the martyrs.”
