Concurrent with the month of Muharram, the Cultural Attaché of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Tanzania attended the ceremony of raising the mourning flag for Imam Husayn (a.s.) at the country’s most important mosque, Al-Ghadir.

At this ceremony, which was held with the presence of Muslim youth, after the raising of the mourning flag, chest-beating was performed, and finally a visit was made to the replica of Karbala.

Following the program, the media unit of the Cultural Attaché produced and published a video of the ceremony, which garnered over one hundred thousand views and received significant attention in the Swahili-speaking region.

The Cultural Attaché of our country also held Muharram mourning programs for Persian speakers starting from the third day of Muharram. In coordination with one of the Shiite delegations (Mawkib al-Abbas), a booth was set up along the route of the Shiite mourning processions to pay tribute to the martyred Imam, the commanders, and the oppressed martyrs of Minab.

The official social media platforms of our country’s Cultural Attaché in Tanzania, with nearly one hundred thousand Swahili-speaking followers, produced and shared various content on the occasion of the Muharram mourning days.
