Concurrent with the arrival of the days of mourning of Tasu’a and Ashura, a mourning ceremony for the Master and Lord of the Martyrs, Imam Husayn (a.s.), was held at the Cultural Attaché of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Sri Lanka with the presence of the devotees of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) and those interested in Islamic culture and teachings.

At the beginning of this ceremony, Hojat al-Islam Rajabi, a cleric dispatched from the Islamic Republic of Iran, recounted the Ashura event and the tribulations that befell the AhlulBayt (a.s.), as well as the duty of the followers of the Husayni school of thought.

While elaborating on the epistemological and Quranic dimensions of the Ashura movement, he referred to the distinguished status of the Holy Quran in the conduct and uprising of Imam Husayn (a.s.).
