Concurrent with the days of Muharram, mourning ceremonies for Sayyed al-Shuhada (the Master of Martyrs), Imam Husayn (a.s.), and his companions were held in South Africa.

The mourning ceremonies for Imam Husayn (a.s.) were held at Islamic and AhlulBayt (a.s.) centers in South Africa, the country of Lesotho, and among the resident Iranian community, in cooperation with the representative office of Al-Mustafa International University, and continued until the end of the first ten days of Muharram.
