🔻The cinematic animation “Sword and Sorrow,” produced by “Mehdi Jafari Jozani” and directed by “Emad Rahmani” and “Mehrdad Mehrabi,” will begin its screening in cinemas across the country on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, coinciding with the arrival of the month of Muharram.

The production of this animation, which was created using the MetaHuman technique – through human scanning – took two years and has had successful appearances at international festivals.

Synopsis of “Sword and Sorrow“

This 92-minute animation narrates the historical period from the martyrdom of Imam Hasan al-Mujtaba (a.s.) to the arrival of Imam Husayn (a.s.) in Karbala.

The story is told from the perspective of an Iranian living in the city of Mada’in, which leads to his joining the caravan of Imam Husayn (a.s.).

Where history intertwines with love and war, in the midst of a battle to fulfill his father’s dream, the adventure of “Karn” begins.
