Concurrent with the arrival of the month of Muharram and the days of mourning for Imam Husayn (a.s.) and his loyal companions, the Cultural Attaché of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Malaysia, with the aim of promoting the culture of Ashura, deepening the knowledge of the AhlulBayt (a.s.), strengthening the religious and cultural identity of Iranian residents, and expanding cultural interactions with Malaysian Muslims, held a series of cultural, religious, and educational programs during the first ten days of Muharram.

These programs were held with the enthusiastic presence of Iranian residents, students, professors, families, Malaysian and Afghan Muslims, and a group of those interested in the school of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) at the Husayniyyah of the Cultural Attaché of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kuala Lumpur, and were met with a warm reception from the audience.

Hojat al-Islam Hamidreza Basiri, in his speeches centered on “The Life of Muhammad and the Family of Muhammad (p.b.u.h) and the Islamic Lifestyle,” examined the various dimensions of the life of the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) and the Infallible Imams (a.s.). Drawing on verses of the Holy Quran, authentic narrations, and Islamic teachings, he elaborated on the most important components of the Islamic lifestyle.

Emphasizing that the Infallible Imams (a.s.) are complete models of happiness and guidance for humanity, he stated, “Following the conduct and lifestyle of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) can provide solutions to many of the ethical, social, and cultural challenges of contemporary societies.”

Basiri, while explaining the various dimensions of the personalities of the Infallible Imams (a.s.), elaborated on the lessons of Ashura for today’s life and introduced the Husayni movement as a universal school for combating oppression, preserving human dignity, and achieving justice.

He also, referring to the conditions of the Islamic world, emphasized the necessity of conveying the message of Ashura to the younger generation and utilizing the cultural and educational capacities of this movement to strengthen the unity of the Islamic ummah.

Other important parts of this ceremony included cultural programs specifically for children and adolescents, which were held with the aim of familiarizing the younger generation with the culture of Ashura, the conduct of Imam Husayn (a.s.), and the values of sacrifice, loyalty, and freedom.
