Concurrent with the beginning of the month of Muharram, various African countries have witnessed the widespread holding of mourning gatherings for Imam Husayn (a.s.)—ceremonies centered on justice, resistance, and unity, showcasing a manifestation of the universal nature of Ashura’s message.

In the “Shiya” area of Kotakota district in the Republic of Malawi, a special mourning gathering was held on the fifth of Muharram. The speaker of the ceremony addressed the topic of “the fulfillment of worldly and otherworldly needs through Imam Husayn (a.s.),” explaining the spiritual station of seeking intercession through Sayyed al-Shuhada (a.s.) (the Master of Martyrs).

He emphasized that love for and seeking intercession through Imam Husayn (a.s.) strengthens the spiritual bond of believers with the AhlulBayt (a.s.) and brings a person closer to the authentic teachings of Islam. The attendees listened to his words with great fervor and sincerity.
