Ashura International Foundation / Husayni Mourning News – June 27, 2026:
Hezbollah of Lebanon commemorated Ashura of 1448 AH – the anniversary of the heartbreaking martyrdom of Imam Husayn (a.s.), his AhlulBayt (a.s.), and his companions – by holding a central mourning gathering adjacent to the shrine of Sayyed al-Shuhada of Lebanon, the martyr Hojat al-Islam Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
At this ceremony, party leaders and figures, political and social personalities, and scholars, alongside delegations of families of martyrs of the Islamic Resistance, wounded veterans, and a massive crowd of people from various areas of Beirut and its southern suburbs, were present.
The central Ashura procession was held along Imam Khomeini Boulevard – the airport road – with the participation of scouting groups from the Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his noble reappearance) Scouting Group, standard-bearers, and families of martyrs carrying images of their martyred children of the Resistance.
The procession moved forward with the mournful melodies of the Imam Mahdi (a.s.) scouts, accompanied by chants in support of the Islamic Resistance and condemnation of the Zionist regime, amid tight security measures along all routes leading to the shrine of Martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the airport road, and the surrounding streets.
Participants in this procession, using loudspeakers placed along the route and around the shrine of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, chanted slogans such as “Labbaik ya Husayn” (Here I am, O Husayn), “Ma taraktek ya Husayn” (I have not abandoned you, O Husayn), “Hayhat minna al-dhilla” (Far from us is humiliation), “Death to Israel,” and “Death to America.”
Amid this procession, chest-beating groups, through reciting Husayni elegies and chants of condolence and mourning for the martyrdom of Imam Husayn (a.s.), his AhlulBayt (a.s.), and his companions, performed their mourning rituals.
The organizers of this ceremony had designated the western section of Imam Khomeini Boulevard, up to near USAL University (the Lebanese University of Sciences and Arts), for the brothers, and the eastern section of the boulevard for the sisters.
