Concurrent with the arrival of the first ten days of Muharram 1405, Iranians residing in Islamabad, Pakistan, in a message of devotion and unity, gathered at the Imam Husayn (a.s.) Mosque located in the residential compound of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

These ritual ceremonies, which were organized with the joint cooperation of the Embassy and our country’s Cultural Attaché, were held under the title “Commemoration of the Martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, Imam Khamenei (r.a.),” so that alongside mourning for Sayyed al-Shuhada (a.s.) (the Master of Martyrs), the memory and ideals of this martyred Imam of the Revolution would be kept alive and honored among compatriots.

On the first and second nights, Hojat al-Islam wal-Muslimin Sheikh Hassan Shami elaborated on religious teachings, and from the third night until the night of Tasu’a, Hojat al-Islam Ghofrollahi, a missionary dispatched from the International Center for Propagation of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, was the speaker of the gathering.

The holding of congregational Maghrib and Isha prayers, recitation of the blessed Ziyarat Ashura, elegy recitation, chest-beating, and finally the serving of Husayni food were among the continuous programs of these nights, which were held with the enthusiastic reception of the participants.

The main theme of the speakers’ remarks was the analysis of the “Husayni epic” and its connection to the spirit of resistance and the fight against arrogance, emphasizing through the lessons of the Ashura event that the spirit of standing against oppression is the enduring legacy of the Husayni school of thought.

Additionally, the Ashura mourning ceremony was held at the residential compound of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Islamabad. This ceremony, which was a manifestation of the connection between sacrifice and martyrdom, was accompanied by the establishment of special processions (mawkibs) in memory of the precious martyrs of the imposed war (Iran-Iraq war) as well as the child martyrs of the Shajareh Tayyebeh School in Minab, linking the spiritual atmosphere of the ceremony with the memory of the martyrs of the Revolution and the oppressions of history.

Majid Mashki, our country’s Cultural Attaché, citing precious narrations and hadiths, enumerated the special characteristics of Imam Husayn (a.s.) and provided explanations regarding the narrations concerning the merits of pilgrimage (Ziyarat) to his shrine.

Following these programs, another ceremony was held at the Imam Husayn (a.s.) Mosque in the residential compound of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Islamabad.

Majid Mashki, our country’s Cultural Attaché, elaborated on the dimensions of the personality of the standard-bearer of Karbala and, emphasizing the exalted status of Abal-Fazl al-Abbas (a.s.) as a perfect model of “devotion to the Vali al-Faqih (leadership),” stated, “He, in the most difficult conditions of Ashura, with deep insight and reliance on firm faith, did not withhold any effort in aiding his Imam.”

He added: “The lesson of ‘submission to the leader’ from Abbas (a.s.) is an eternal message for all freedom-seekers. The spirit of resistance against oppressors and standing against global arrogance and the Zionist regime is the continuation of the same Husayni path, of which today the nation of Iran, following the standard-bearer of the plain of Karbala, is the flag-bearer in the world, and this steadfastness is the main strategy for confronting the excesses of the criminals.”
