🌐 Iraq: The “10th International Scientific Conference on the Arbaeen Pilgrimage” has begun.

The 10th International Scientific Conference on the Arbaeen Pilgrimage opened at 3:30 PM today, Friday, 23 Safar 1448 AH (August 7, 2026), at the holy shrine of Sayyed al-Shuhada (a.s.) (the Master of Martyrs).

The “Karbala Center for Studies and Research,” affiliated with the Holy Shrine of Imam Husayn (a.s.), is holding the 10th Arbaeen Scientific Conference under the slogan “The Arbaeen Pilgrimage; A Civilizational Message in the Age of Digital Transformation” (Arabic: “زيارة الأربعين… رسالة حضارية في ظل التحول الرقمي”).

This conference is being held under the auspices of Ayatollah Sheikh Abdul Mahdi al-Karbalai (the custodian of the Holy Husayni Shrine), and a number of official and academic institutions—including the Ministries of Higher Education, Planning, Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities of Iraq—are participating in its organization.

“Sociology of Arbaeen,” “Sustainability and resource management in the Arbaeen pilgrimage,” “Future infrastructure for the Arbaeen pilgrimage,” “Digital transformation in the Arbaeen pilgrimage,” “Crowd and population management with artificial intelligence,” “Intelligent media and international communications,” and “Economics of the Arbaeen pilgrimage” are among the themes of the 10th conference.

This international scientific conference will conclude tomorrow evening, Saturday, August 8.
