🌐 Iraq: 📚 Al-Quraishi: We seek to make this conference the scientific reference for population management in mega-events.

Professor “Abdul Amir al-Quraishi,” the head of the Karbala Center for Studies and Research and the director of the 10th International Scientific Conference on the Arbaeen Pilgrimage, stated at the opening ceremony:

– The responsibility of the researcher today goes beyond merely describing the phenomenon of Arbaeen. He must discover the hidden reasons for its success so that it may be used to serve humanity and society.

– The Arbaeen Conference began with the belief that scientific research is the best path to preserving the identity and developing this pilgrimage.

– The 10th session marks the beginning of a new stage in the evolution of the “Arbaeen Conference”—a stage that goes beyond mere documentation and moves toward formulating a comprehensive scientific theory about mass pilgrimages and charting the future vision.

– We are pursuing an international scientific project that bridges the humanities and applied sciences and becomes a global academic reference for studying mega-events and population management.

– In the 10th session, 290 papers from 212 researchers were accepted. In the 9th session, this number was 144 papers. This indicates the growing attention of researchers toward the Arbaeen Conference.

– Twenty-four Iraqi universities and scientific institutions are participating in supporting the Arbaeen Conference.

– We also launched the Arbaeen scientific-research journal in 2023, which has been recognized as having scientific validity by the Ministry of Higher Education.
