🏴 Husayni Mourning Around the World – 2026

🌐 Iraq: 🕌 Representative of the Najaf Islamic Seminary: Digital transformation and artificial intelligence, alongside great opportunities, also bring ethical and intellectual challenges.

The “10th International Scientific Conference on the Arbaeen Pilgrimage” opened this afternoon, Friday, 23 Safar 1448 AH (August 7, 2026), at the holy shrine of Sayyed al-Shuhada (a.s.) (the Master of Martyrs).

After the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Haj “Osama al-Karbalai,” the speeches of the opening ceremony began.

The first speaker at the ceremony was Allamah “Sayyed Mohammad Sadiq al-Khirsan,” the representative of the Najaf Islamic Seminary.

Some of the points he raised in his remarks are as follows:

– Today we live in an era of scientific progress and digital transformation—a blessing that provides great opportunities for serving humanity and disseminating knowledge. However, it also brings ethical and intellectual challenges that make the strengthening of awareness and values essential to ensure that this progress is utilized for the benefit of society and the preservation of its identity.

– The values of Imam Husayn (a.s.) have been and continue to be a source of defense for the homeland and its holy sites. These values have instilled in the faithful a spirit of sacrifice and steadfastness in facing challenges, and have established the meanings of loyalty and dignity in their hearts.

– Everyone must reevaluate the methods that can refine humanity in the context of contemporary life.

– We must attract the talent and expertise of elites to convey the thought of Imam Husayn (a.s.) to the world.
