The “10th International Scientific Conference on the Arbaeen Pilgrimage” opened this afternoon, Friday, 23 Safar 1448 AH (August 7, 2026), at the holy shrine of Sayyed al-Shuhada (a.s.) (the Master of Martyrs).

The 10th International Scientific Conference on the Arbaeen Pilgrimage opened at 3:30 PM today, Friday, 23 Safar 1448 AH (August 7, 2026), at the holy shrine of Sayyed al-Shuhada (a.s.) (the Master of Martyrs).

The “Karbala Center for Studies and Research,” affiliated with the Holy Shrine of Imam Husayn (a.s.), is holding the 10th Arbaeen Scientific Conference under the slogan “The Arbaeen Pilgrimage; A Civilizational Message in the Age of Digital Transformation” (Arabic: “زيارة الأربعين… رسالة حضارية في ظل التحول الرقمي”).

A number of official and academic institutions—including the Ministries of Higher Education, Planning, Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities of Iraq—are participating in the organization of this conference.

Scholars from more than fifty countries around the world have submitted papers for this conference.

“Sociology of Arbaeen,” “Sustainability and resource management in the Arbaeen pilgrimage,” “Future infrastructure for the Arbaeen pilgrimage,” “Digital transformation in the Arbaeen pilgrimage,” “Crowd and population management with artificial intelligence,” “Intelligent media and international communications,” and “Economics of the Arbaeen pilgrimage” are among the themes of the 10th conference, which will conclude tomorrow, Saturday, August 8.
