Hojat al-Islam Sayed Kalb-e-Jawad Naqvi, Secretary-General of the Majlis-e-Ulama-e-Hind (Council of Indian Scholars), in a mourning gathering held at the Ghufran Ma’ab Husayniyyah in the city of Lucknow, referred to the widespread participation of Sunnis in the mourning ceremonies for Imam Hussein (a.s.), describing Husayni mourning as a symbol of unity and Muslim love for the AhlulBayt (a.s.), and emphasized the necessity of countering divisive policies.

In part of his remarks, referring to scholars’ perspectives on the creation of the world, he stated: All the theories put forward thus far to deny the existence of God are, in fact, themselves evidence proving the existence of the Lord.

The prominent Indian cleric, referring to the “Big Bang” theory, stated: Before the emergence of matter, there existed a force that caused the explosion and the beginning of the creation of the universe, and that power is God Almighty.

He added: Just as no image takes shape without a painter and creator, this vast universe could not have come into existence without a Creator.

The religious scholar also emphasized that the AhlulBayt (a.s.) of the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h.) played a fundamental role in conveying the message of monotheism to the world, and that the Infallible Imams (a.s.) trained students who, utilizing reason and knowledge, explained and proved the existence of God to the people.

The Secretary-General of the Majlis-e-Ulama-e-Hind, in continuation of his remarks, referred to the widespread participation of Sunnis in the mourning ceremonies for Imam Hussein (a.s.) and stated: Sunnis have always actively participated in Husayni mourning ceremonies, and this year too they had a significant presence in the “Alam-e-Fateh-e-Furat” (the standard of the conqueror of the Euphrates) ceremony.

He added: This widespread presence demonstrates that Sunnis have no objection to mourning; rather, it is some officials and executive bodies that, by creating misunderstandings, attempt to sow discord among Muslims.

The prominent Indian cleric, criticizing certain divisive policies, stated: British colonial policy has always been “divide and rule,” and unfortunately, some governments have followed the same approach to this day; but today, these policies no longer have the effectiveness they once did.

At the conclusion of the gathering, Hojat al-Islam Sayed Kalb-e-Jawad Naqvi recounted the tragedies of Karbala and narrated the martyrdom of Ali al-Asghar (a.s.), the youngest martyr of Karbala, with a sorrowful delivery, and then concluded his remarks with the recounting of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (a.s.).
