Hojat al-Islam Sayed Sajid Ali Naqvi, Head of Pakistan’s Shiite Scholars Council, emphasized the life-building, awakening, and eternal messages of the Husayni movement, describing the event of Karbala as a source of guidance and enlightenment for all human beings in every age and time.

At the beginning of his message, referring to the political, social, and religious conditions of the Yazidi era, he stated: The Yazidi era was a dark and deviant period in which the rulings of Islam were mocked, obedience to God was forgotten, following Satan was presented as the government’s primary objective, social justice was destroyed, fundamental human rights were trampled, and heresies, indecency, immorality, and cultural corruption were promoted. The public treasury of Muslims became a tool for personal and factional interests, and the true face of Muhammadan Sharia (p.b.u.h) was deliberately distorted and destroyed.

The prominent Pakistani scholar further added: In such circumstances, the beloved grandson of the Holy Prophet of Islam (p.b.u.h), Imam Hussein (a.s.), stood against this false and illegitimate government with full awareness, courage, and faith. Not only did he refuse to pledge allegiance to the tyrannical ruler, but through his migration from Medina and his journey to Karbala, he undertook a great mission to reform the Ummah, revive virtue (ma’ruf), and eliminate vice (munkar). On this arduous and difficult path, he accepted all hardships and tribulations with open arms, and with clarity, he articulated the objectives and motivations of his uprising for the world. Despite being fully aware of his fate of martyrdom, he never retreated from his position of truth, and together with his family and loyal companions, through sacrifice and devotion, created an unparalleled epic in human history.

He stated unequivocally: Karbala is not merely a historical event, but a living truth, a spiritual state, an authentic movement, and a sign of will, determination, and perseverance. Within this movement lie universal principles, human values, and a divine commitment that compel every human being, regardless of religion or creed, to reflect and be affected.

Hojat al-Islam Sayed Sajid Naqvi, emphasizing the importance of drawing inspiration from the conduct of Imam Hussein (a.s.) in the present age, stated: If in our time too, Muhammadan Sharia (p.b.u.h) faces anti-Islamic laws, justice withdraws from society, fundamental rights of the people are violated, oppression and aggression spread, and a culture of licentiousness prevails, then it is incumbent upon us, drawing inspiration from the Husayni uprising, to stand against these deviations and strive to reform this corrupt system.

The founder and leader of Pakistan’s Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) further called upon all lovers and mourners of Hussein to renew their covenant: Let us, in these days of mourning, drawing inspiration from the conduct and character of Imam Hussein (a.s.) and his loyal companions, resolve to reform ourselves and our society, and relying on the teachings of this divine movement, fulfill our duty toward society and future generations.

In conclusion, the Head of Pakistan’s Shiite Scholars Council, referring to the dire situation of the Islamic world, stated: While in various parts of Pakistan, Husayni mourners hold ceremonies in memory of the oppression endured by Imam Hussein (a.s.) and his companions, we must not remain indifferent to the oppression of Muslim nations. The injustices inflicted upon the people of Palestine, Gaza—children, women, the elderly, and innocent youth—as well as the conspiracies underway against Islamic Iran and other free nations of the world, all demand our loud and protesting voice against global arrogance and tyrannical systems.
