Concurrent with the days of mourning for the Master and Lord of the Martyrs, Imam Husayn (a.s.), mourning ceremonies for the first ten days of Muharram were held at the Imam Khamenei Husayniyyah in Sarajevo.

At this ceremony, Iranian residents and the devotees of the AhlulBayt (a.s.), while keeping alive the memory of the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution and the martyrs of recent wars, shed tears of mourning in grief for Imam Husayn (a.s.) and his loyal companions.

Hojat al-Islam Rabbani, a religious scholar, referring to the eternal message of Ashura, emphasized: “Ashura is the day of declaring a stance and drawing the line between the camp of truth and falsehood, and Husayni mourners, through their presence at these ceremonies, declare their loyalty to the path of Imam Husayn (a.s.) and the ideals of the Ashura movement.”

Referring to the importance of keeping the culture of Ashura alive, he added: “Holding mourning gatherings, pilgrimage (Ziyarat), and the continuous remembrance of the Karbala event play an important role in preventing the distortion of history and preserving the true message of the Husayni movement.”

In order to maximize the benefit for children and adolescents and to familiarize them with the school of the AhlulBayt (a.s.), a cultural-religious program was held.
