Muharram mourning ceremonies and commemorations of the martyrdom of Imam Husayn (a.s.) and his loyal companions were held in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, with the widespread participation of youth, devotees of the AhlulBayt (a.s.), and various segments of the population.

At this spiritual gathering, participants, by reciting verses from the Holy Quran and listening to Rawda-khwani (eulogy recitation) and elegy recitation in mourning for Sayyed al-Shuhada (the Master of Martyrs), Imam Husayn (a.s.), and his faithful companions, engaged in mourning and chest-beating.

Attendees at this ritual, emphasizing the preservation of Ashura’s culture and the messages of the Husayni uprising, stressed the continuation of the path of truth-seeking, justice-seeking, and the fight against oppression—which are considered among the most important teachings of the Ashura movement.

It is worth noting that concurrent with the arrival of Muharram, mosques, Husayniyyahs, and religious centers in Kabul and other provinces of the country are hosting mourning ceremonies during the first ten days of Muharram, and devotees of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) express their devotion to the Prophetic household by attending these gatherings.
